Russell Stannard is a principal lecturer in Multimedia/ICT at the University of Westminster and the course leader in the MSc in Interactive Multimedia . Russell also teaches on courses in
Media and Technology module on the MA TESOL at the same university.
He runs a popular teacher training site
www.teachertrainingvideos.com which helps teachers to use technology in their teaching by offering them free step by step videos that take them right through the technologies
In 2008 he was awarded the Times Higher/JISC "Oustanding Initiative in ICT 2008" and the University of Westminster "Excellence in Teaching and learning In 2009 he won TEFLnet Site of the year. In 2010 he was also awarded the British Council ELTons Award for Innovation. All of this was for his work in
www.teachertrainingVideos.com and in innovative work in using Screen Capture Software for providing students with Feedback.
He has a regular column in the English Teaching Professional called Webwatcher where he writes about technology and language teaching. The column has been running for 10 years. The ELT Professional has begun to offer free on-line examples of

In 2009 Russell Stannard was awarded funding from JISC/HEA to develpo a second website of training videos for multimedia students. This site offers free OER content for anyone interested in learning to use multimedia tools and is called multimediatrainingvideos.com
